MEDICINE FOR CHAOS
If you are living in the United States or watching it from afar, you are experiencing chaos.
From God's eyes, what is happening may seem trivial. When you are the One who birthed Creation, these choppy waters in the microscopic part of an infinite ocean are not disturbing.
However, when you are a single soul in the choppy waters, it can feel like tremendous upheaval.
Many of you have been having trouble sleeping, are feeling more on edge, or may have persistent worries and/or irritation happening.
I know some of you may be witnessing what is happening and not carry these same sensations and sentiments. I know some who have called for the destruction of an old broken-seeming system, holding faith that what will be created next will be better.
Either way, we are in the "hot-seat" of uncertainty.
What will happen? What won't happen? And, we all deal with uncertainty differently. Uncertainty in our entire collective sphere can be more difficult than normal everyday personal insecurities.
When I lived in Haiti for 2 years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in my 20s, I learned a little about what it was like to live in a failed state where almost nothing was reliable or predictable. I learned a lot from my time there, especially how people maintained resilience in the face of little/no government support, food shortages, entrenched poverty, and environmental collapse.
Of course, I am not saying that what has been happening in Haiti will happen in the US.
I am saying that what I learned from Haitians in how they navigated their uncertain reality was one of the most affecting experiences I have ever had in my life and that it continues to hold light, especially now.
What I saw in Haiti amongst many was a DEEP reliance on God.
"Si Bondye vle" was the common refrain. If God wills ... If God wants." Everything was this. This would happen if God wanted it to happen. That would happen only if God wanted it to happen.
In many cases it seemed like my Haitian friends were living directly on God, and God was sustaining their bodies, heart and spirits.
My experience receiving this transmission from Haitians was so powerful that it took me from being a wayward, unhappy Christian who rejected the church to a life-long seeker of this Great Mystery.
When we do not have all of the comforts of the modern world, or when our lives become uncertain, we realize often that God is the true center pole --- the true axis mundi of the Creation.
We clear out our false reliances and turn directly to Source, knowing that everything is given and taken from this. As we re-orient to the true Reality, our spiritual paths open and plunge deeper as we find true direction.
Our Divine Alignment is the key. Divine Alignment is our foundational step in spiritual growth and spiritual maturity. And, it is the medicine for chaos.
